HOLDER is a world leader in the design and manufacture of articulated compact tractors. HOLDER was founded in 1888 when C. Friedrich and Martin Holder started a machine and magnet factory. In 1913, after establishing itself in Metzigen, the family-run business produced the first automatic back sprayer that became known worldwide as the HOLDER Sprayer. Holder's name became famous around the world as a synonym of innovation and superior manufacturing. The first HOLDER tractor was a single axle design manufactured in 1930. It had all the modern equipment and refinement of that time, some of which were trend-setting techniques like single-wheel brake and a PTO shaft drive. Friedrich was honored for his achievement and the tractor became renowned for its extensive application possibilities. In 1953, their first four-wheel tractor drove out of the HOLDER factory. It offered higher working performance and comfort. One year later, the first four-wheel drive tractor was launched. The many benefits of this construction type are the foundation of HOLDER's tractor production to date. Many hallmark HOLDER features were already being used on these early models: permanent all-wheel drive, narrow turning radius, articulated steering and enhanced traction. Originally intended for agriculture, HOLDER's articulated tractors became so popular for the municipal market that the sector became the main production focus within a few years. The MultiPark series was developed in the 1990s, and represented a complete family of municipal vehicles with different basic models. All municipal models are marked with compact frame construction, dual steering, permanent hydrostatic all-wheel drive, and four equal size tires. Driven by a commitment to improve and innovate, HOLDER continues to create the most productive and competent tractors in its class. These multi-season, multi-purpose vehicles are relied upon by municipalities, large institutions, property maintenance and landscape firms, vineyards and plantations, forest management companies and more.
